From girls’ trips and solo adventures to special events and weddings, I spend a ton of time traveling every year. And nothing is worse than not feeling your best when you’ve got places to be and people to see. So, through trial and error, (and plenty of planes, trains, and automobiles), I’ve figured out how to keep myself on the up-and-up when I’m on the go. From days before takeoff to touchdown at home, here’s how I stay healthy while traveling…

The prep:
Especially if you’re flying to your destination, immune support is crucial. A few days before I jetset, I start prepping by:
- Extra probiotics (time in the air can really take a toll on your gut!)
- Vitamin D – check your levels with your doc, but a quality D supplement is absolutely essential.
- Vitamin C (Liposomal) – make sure you’re taking the quality stuff (not the kind you grab off the shelf at most stores) – it’s the unsung hero of breezing through travel.
- On Guard – this doTERRA product is packed with various powerful essential oils that help me fend off anything I might not want following me off the plane.
What to pack:
Supplements:
- Probiotics (never a day without them!)
- On Guard: in addition to taking the softgels, I keep the roller version of this oil blend on hand for an extra boost.
- Magnesium Glycinate: to help support sleep quality and minimize stress (again, quality is super important!).
- Adaptiv: this oil blend helps me get the best sleep no matter where I am! I love that it comes in capsules – just one of these and I am catching those deep Zs.
- Peppermint: this is one of my favorite doTERRA oils to knock-out headaches or nausea.
- *Note: Not all oils are created equal, please don’t use anything that is not CPTG certified!
- Digestive enzymes: I am obsessed with doTERRA’s Terrazyme supplement – this will help you take that vacay diet in stride.
- MetaPWR: this system is the absolute queen of healthy travel! The collagen supplement keeps me energized, and the Assist supplement helps keep blood sugar in check!
Sanitizer: Keep it clean – the actually clean way! So many sanitizers have super gross stuff in them that keep you from being able to support your body the way you want to. I keep the doTERRA On Guard hand sanitizer (I love the gel, but it comes in a spray, too!) within reach to keep the germs away.
Electrolytes: Hydration is key, so make sure you’re getting those real electrolytes in. My personal favorite is Re-Lyte by Redmond. Skip the sugar-loaded options because they won’t help, and go for the real salt stuff instead.
Tips & Tricks:
- Water is key! Especially if you’re flying, aim for at least 15 ounces per hour in the air.
- Say no thanks to the snacks on the plane and bring your own instead! My carry-on usually includes Chomps sticks, Hu chocolate (love the bars or the “gems”), RX bars, and Simple Mills cookies or crackers.
- Once you’re home again, it’s time to reground and get back in the game! It might be tempting to keep up those vacay indulgences, but getting back to your clean living routine is super important.
Wishing you health and wealth of travel!
XOXO,
Carrie
